Opinion: Naidu should restrain from disturbing peace

TDP supremo Chandrababu Naidu wants to go back to Visakhapatnam once again with the same agenda.

He appears to be very particular on his visit to this city, which was proposed as the executive capital of the state and Naidu is opposed to it.

The city had witnessed severe protests for Naidu’s opposition to the executive capital proposal and he had to come back from the airport without visiting the city.

As an experienced leader, Chandrababu Naidu should have dropped the idea of visit to the place as that has the potential reason to erupt into violence.

Naidu might be very particular on his political agenda but should not be at the cost of law and order.

He, as an experienced administrator and a long-serving chief minister, should show some wisdom to avoid direct clash with the people or political parties and cause break of law and order.

But, it looks like he is more determined to make his visit and claim his upmanship, rather than protecting the interests of the state and the people.

The YSR Congress ranks, who led the protest the other day, were very cautious, and did not give any chance to the masses to take to violence during the protest on the other day.

However, the situation may not be the same if Naidu visits the city again with the same agenda.

Having worked as chief minister for so many years, Chandrababu Naidu knows how the crowd reacts and he had given several lectures in the past how any opposition leader should work, without provoking the masses.

When it comes to his own politics, the TDP chief ignores all those rules and responsibilities.

It looks now that Chandrababu Naidu is firm on making his next visit to Visakhapatnam again in a month or so with a strong force of his own party supporters rallying for him to counter the protesters.

It is to be seen if wisdom would prevail on him and he would change his plans as far as Visakhapatnam is concerned and the sentiments of the people there and the politics involved in it are concerned.
