Our phone calls are being tapped: YSRCP

On Tuesday, a large group of YSRCP officials have approached the Delhi High Court stating that their phone numbers are being tapped alleged by the ruling party in order to deliberately destroy their political meetings in Andhra Pradesh.

The party leaders have requested Justice Najmi Waziri to immediately suspend those who are trying to vandalize their political work by illegal surveillance. The Justice Najmi asked both the Centre and AP to react on the allegations made by MP YV Subba Reddy and Jagan’s political assistants.

The appeal was made so that the court takes necessary actions to punish culprits under suitable provisions of law for unethically tapping their phone calls. Moreover, they claimed that a request was already made to the ministry back in December 2018. But the ministry never responded to the plea made by the YSR Congress party.

Usually, the Department of Telecommunications which is under the control of the Union Government will have to give permission to tap any phone calls. But YSRCP believes that the ruling party is using some local power and tactis to get their phones tapped.
