Owaisi’s Reaction on Ayodhya Verdict

Soon after the Supreme Court’s most-awaited verdict in 134-year-old Ayodhya dispute, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has responded and expressed his dissatisfaction over Supreme Court’s ruling.

Asaduddin Owaisi stated that he agrees with the opinion of Muslim personal law board. He said he is not satisfied with the SC’s ruling. Responding on SC’s order to Centre to provide 5 acre land as an alternative to Sunni Waqf board, Owaisi said, “We were not begging for land.” He added that Muslims in India are not so downtrodden that they can’t get 5 acre land for a mosque. He said, “It was about our legal right on the disputed land.” Owaisi went onto state, “Supreme Court is supreme. But it is not infallible.”

Meanwhile, Owaisi has come down heavily on Opposition Congress party which came forward to lend its support to build Ram Mandir in Ayodhya after Supreme Court’s verdict. “Congress has shown its true colours. Had it not been for Congress party’s deceitfulness and hypocrisy, idols would not have been placed in 1949. Had the locks not opened by Rajiv Gandhi the Masjid would still be there. Had Narasimha Rao discharged the duties, the Masjid would still be there.”
