Pakistan Demands UN to Remove Pee Cee, UN Backs Her!

Pakistan is doing all sorts of silly tricks to gather international support on Kashmir issues and it did not even spare Indian actors. Earlier this week Pakistan’s Human Rights Minister Shireen Mazari wrote to the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and demanded to remove Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra as UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador.

Reacting on this the United Nations spokesperson said, “UNICEF Goodwill Ambassadors retain the right to speak about issues that interest or concern them.” The spokesperson further added that our ambassadors personal views or actions do not necessarily reflect those of UNICEF.

On February 26th this year, Priyanka Chopra tweeted ‘Jai Hind’ in support of the Indian armed forces. India attacked Pakistan’s base in counter to the Pulwama attack that killed over 40 Indian soldiers which is one of the most horrific incidents of the armed forces. Based on this tweet, Pakistan lodged their protest at United Nations.

But Priyanka Chopra gathered support in social media and also from Indian citizens on this issue. Now that United Nations has clarified, PeeCee is likely to stay as UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador.
