Pakistani Bahu Can’t Be Our Brand Ambassador!

Bharatiya Janata Party MLA from Goshamahal in Hyderabad T Raja Singh Lodha is known for making controversial and inflammatory speeches and comments.

He is such a hard core Hindu that he immensely hates the governments appeasing minorities at the cost of majority Hindus. Many a time, his inflammatory comments landed him in police stations.

On Monday, Raja Singh came up with a sensational demand.

In a video message to Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, the MLA demanded that tennis superstar Sania Mirza be removed as the brand ambassador of Telangana, as she is a “bahu of Pakistan.”

He said at a when India was cutting off all its relations with Pakistan in every field in protest against killing of 44 Indian soldiers by Pakistan-backed terrorists at Pulwama in Kashmir three days ago.

He said entire country has condemned the dastardly act perpetrated by our neighbouring country and started breaking all ties with it.

“KCR has also cancelled all his birthday celebrations on Sunday as a mark of tribute to the martyred soldiers. He should display the same kind of patriotism by removing tennis superstar Sania Mirza from the post of Telangana brand ambassador,” he said.

Raja Singh said Sania ceased to be Indian as she had married a Pakistani.

“It is not appropriate to continue Sania, a Pakistani Bahu, as the state’s brand ambassador,” he said.

Sania got married to former Pakistan cricket captain Shoaib Malik in April 2010. The couple lives in Dubai most of the time. She gave birth to a baby boy in Hyderabad on October 30 last year.

Singh pointed out that there were other famous sportspersons from Telangana like V V S Laxman, Saina Nehwal or P V Sindhu, who had brought medals and laurels to the country.

“You can make any one of them as the brand ambassador, but we don’t want a Pakistani Bahu in that post,” he asserted.

The Telangana government declared Sania Mirza as Telangana brand ambassador in July 2014. Since then, she has been participating in the official programmes in the capacity.
