Passenger wears 2.5 kgs clothes to avoid extra baggage fee

Airlines have various reasons to limit baggage weight and also charge extra for more weight. Knowing this, a passenger, named Gel Rodriguez, took an extreme and the unprecedented step of wearing as many clothes as possible on her to avoid paying a fee for extra baggage.

Rodriguez, from the Philippines, donned an umpteenth number of clothes on her in order to bring down her suitcase’s weight. And, she elaborated the incident on her Facebook post that she was informed by the airline staff that her luggage (9.5 kgs) exceeded the maximum weight of 7 kilograms.

However, Rodriguez refused to pay the excess baggage fee. But in order to follow the regulations, she wore about 2.5 kilograms of clothes to bring down her bag’s weight to only 6.5 kgs. Along with the whole story, the passenger also a hilarious photo on Facebook, showing her wearing uncountable clothes, with a witty pose.

“From 9kg to 6.5kg baggage #ExcessBaggageChallengeAccepted,” she wrote. Soon after, the image began going rounds on social media with more than 20k shares and retweets. Netizens also praised for her eccentric, yet a productive idea.
