May be, Very people in the Industry knew about Daya Kodavatiganti alias Dayanand Reddy until recently. He shot to fame with the announcement of Nandi Awards 2013 by AP Government after being chosen as Best Director for ‘Alias Janaki’.
Actually, Daya Kodavatiganti entered Industry with the goal to become an actor. It was Pawan Kalyan who changed his vision and guided him to become a Director. Daya wants to meet Pawan Kalyan soon and hold a private screening of Alias Janaki for him.
Daya claims he was flooded with congratulatory calls since the Nandi Awards announcement. ‘I am very happy. This award gave me lots of energy and motivation,’ says the Filmmaker.
After joining ‘Kushi’ as apprentice, Daya acted in all the films of Pawan Kalyan from ‘Johnny’ to ‘Panjaa’. Later, He began focussing on Direction. ‘Before the launch of Johnny, Pawan asked Me about my life ambition. When I informed him about my wish to become a successful actor, He told me that one should have command on all the crafts to succeed. He asked me to stay with him, offered roles in his films and made me learn the work,’ disclosed Daya.
Actually, Sujeeth of ‘Run Raja Run’ was the first choice of Producer Neelima Tirumalasetty to direct ‘Alias Janaki’. But, The offer came Daya’s way in the end.
