Pawan Prefers Rajus’ Turf To Kapus’ Land!

Power star and Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan has finally made up his mind to contest the assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh and surprisingly, he has chosen two constituencies, not just one, to contest the polls.

One of the constituencies is Gajuwaka in Visakhapatnam district which has already been predicted. But the second constituency that he has chosen is Bhimavaram in West Godavari, which is rather surprising.

Everybody thought Pawan would contest from one of the constituencies in East Godavari district, particularly Pithapuram.

Reason is simple: Pawan has a huge and even mad following among the youth in East Godavari, which is dominated by Kapu community.

One can find Pawan Kalyan cut-outs in almost every village in the district and there are Pawan Kalyan Fans’ Associations in every mandal. So, he would have had it easy, had he chosen any one of the constituencies in the district, particularly in Konaseema region.

Even if he finds it difficult to win Gajuwaka constituency, where voters are unpredictable, he could have at least won one seat in East Godavari.

However, Pawan has chosen Bhimavaram assembly constituency in West Godavari. One can say it is a calculated risk, as the constituency is dominated by Kshatriya community (Rajus), who are financially and socially most powerful.

Both the TDP and YSR Congress party have fielded strong candidates there. So, he would find it difficult to fight them in the elections.

During 2009 elections, too, his brother megastar Chiranjeevi made a similar mistake. He contested from Palakolllu assembly constituency in West Godavari district but lost to a woman candidate from the Congress. Luckily, he managed to win Tirupati assembly seat that salvaged his prestige.

Hope, Pawan will not meet the same fate!
