Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently shared a video on his social media platform where he welcomed a ‘new member’ into the family. He named the calf ‘Deepjyoti’ and explained why he named her that.
He said, “It is said in our scriptures – ‘Gaav: Sarvasukha Prada’. There has been an auspicious arrival of a new member in the Prime Minister Housing Family on Lok Kalyan Marg. In the Prime Minister’s residence, the beloved mother cow has given birth to a new calf, which has a symbol of light on its forehead. Hence it was named ‘Deepjyoti’.”
We can see Modi taking a stroll with Deepjyoti in his garden. We can see him taking care of the calf and patting it adorably. During the Sankranti season, the video shows Modi feeding Punganur cows in his place. As we know, this breed is from the Rayalaseema region of Andhra Pradesh. This breed is quite rare as it has the world’s smallest humped cattle breeds.
Modiji says that Deepjyoti is quite adorable and it looks like the Prime Minister is indirectly sending a lot of messages regarding animal welfare especially the treatment of crows through this video. A lot of netizens are praising Modi and the culture he is promoting by raising cows.
