The Superstar of India, with millions of fans across the globe, had never shown penchant for politics and power, although he was and is under huge pressure to join politics in Tamil Nadu state. There were days when his single line statement, prior to elections, advantaged a party and disadvantaged the other, among DMK and AIADMK – that is one evidence which prove his popularity.
Although the actor’s co-stars, who joined politics, including Chiranjeevi, Ambareesh & others tried provoking him to jump into the bandwagon, he silently laughed off but never dared to offer a comment. But, in the recent past, there has been a huge speculation that Superstar would be joining state politics to gain the best advantage of existing political void, after the demise of Amma Jayalalitha.
So, what has added fuel to the fire? – It is Rajinikanth’s sensational statement on ‘Power’ which has created a lot of flutter among political circles and media. In one of his recent statement at a book launch event, the Basha said, ‘I would like to call myself a spiritualist more than an actor. If money, fame are kept on one side and spiritualism on other hand, I would pick spirituality because it has so much power. I am someone who likes power. Don’t mistake me.’
Misunderstanding what Rajinikanth has stated, the Tamil state was abuzz with a large uproar that he’s interested in Political power. Incidentally, it has caught everyone’s attention because of the existing vacuum in state after Amma’s death and growing demand for his political entry. With a view to en-cash his craze among Tamilians, many parties including BJP are playing a watchdog role and never left a chance to join hands with him – Modi’s friendly meet with Rajini during 2014 polls is one best attempt made by BJP. Despite the force from all quarters, he never cared to either divulge an opinion or trash those rumors. But, the Kabali’s recent opinion on ‘Power’ was misreported as Political Power, which means nothing to him.
However, the actor delivered a statement and ensured things fall back quickly. ‘The power I was mentioning is Spiritual power,’ he clarified.
