Revanth Reddy Planning Regional Party?

Is firebrand leader and Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) working president A Revanth Reddy contemplating floating a regional party in the state?

The answer seems to be yes, if one were to believe the talk going on in the circles to close to Revanth. Apparently, he has got vexed with the Congress leaders in the state and has come to the conclusion that he might not get the PCC chief post because these leaders will not allow it to happen.

Though the high command is very positive towards Revanth, he has not been getting any support from the Congress leaders in the state.

He did not hide his anguish over the way the PCC leaders turned a blind eye towards him even when he was sent to jail in connection with the drone case.

“PCC chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy should have come to the jail to call on me. Otherwise, he should have given a call to the party workers to continue the agitation at KTR’s farmhouse at Janwada to sustain the movement. The TRS government is able to survive only because of the lack of unity among the Congress leaders,” he observed.

Sources said Revanth already had discussion with his supporters and followers on the pros and cons of launching a new regional party.

He reportedly came to a conclusion that the Congress party is completely demoralised and has lost the strength to fight against the TRS.

“Only a strong regional party can take on another regional party like the TRS. The national parties have lost their relevance in Telangana politics,” he reportedly told his followers.

Sources said several NRIs and hardcore Telangana industrialists have also extended support to Revanth in terms of money and also other forms.

If Revanth floats a regional party, many serious leaders from the Congress also might join his party, sources added.
