RRR was initially slated for release on July 30th, 2020 but that did not happen due to delay in shoot. The makers had announced that the film will release on January 8th, 2021.
However, the onset of coronavirus pandemic has changed the entire scenario and shoots were postponed indefenitely.
The latest update is that RRR might be releasing on July 30th, 2021. Interestingly enough, Rajamouli has locked a July release after multiple postponements. He feels that postponing the film to July will give him ample time to wrap up the talkie part and focus on post-production.
RRR is being made on a budget of over Rs 300 crores and planning an optimal release date is really essential. The situation pertaining to Coronavirus is expected to ease up by next July and audience might be confident enough to go to cinemas.
There were rumors regarding the digital release of RRR, but the producers have ruled out this option as it has a huge risk factor attached to it.
