#SaveNallamala: Pawan’s Tweet On Bangaru Telangana

Janasena Party President Pawan Kalyan has stepped up his fight against the proposed uranium mining in the Nallamala forest region in the Nagarkurnool district of Telangana. After expressing his support for the cause through media a couple of days ago, Pawan once again lent his support to the the #SaveNallamala campaign via Twitter last night.

“Will we give a Bangaru Telangana or uranium pollution-ridden Telangana to our future generations? Political leaders must introspect,” Pawan tweeted last night, targeting the Telangana government directly. Pawan also quoted a statement by the then Chief of Seattle in the year 1852 which reads, “Earth doesn’t belong to man, man belongs to Earth.”

Senior Congress leader V Hanumantha Rao had sought Pawan’s support to the fight a couple of days ago. The Janasena chief had said that uranium mining would generate radon which may cause lung cancer and kidney diseases in people, especially pregnant women, living across the Nallamala forest by the Krishna River.

Pawan is known for his unlimited enthusiasm in the beginning and then slowly fizzling out in a few days. The big question now is whether Pawan will brave the Telangana government and fight through the #SaveNallamala campaign and stop the uranium mining? Will he be a saviour to over 70,000 people in 48 villages in Telangana that are facing the pollution threat?
