The mysterious death of Sunanda Pushkar, wife of Congress parliament member Shashi Tharoor, has been in under investigation from last few years. In the latest development, Tharoor has reportedly filed case on Republic TV Editor-In-Chief Arnab Goswami for accessing the confidential documents related to his wife’s investigation report.
Calling it an ‘impermissible act’, Tharoor claimed that Arnab has shared the investigation report with the public in his complaint. He further alleged that the controversial TV journalist and anchor has made some defamatory statements against me to increase viewership for his news channel. Tharoor has submitted a material produced on record in the form of RTI replies from Delhi Police to strengthen his allegation on Arnab.
Following the Lok Sabha MP’s complaint, the Patiala Court in New Delhi has directed the concerned Police station to file a FIR (First Information Report) against Goswami and to investigate into the matter. Earlier in the month of January, the Kerala High Court has halted the proceedings in criminal defamation case filed by Shashi Tharoor against Arnab. The MP of Thiruvananthapuram has accused Arnab of making false statements against him pertaining to wife Sunanda Pushkar’s death.
