Swamy Goud faking injury to eye?

Telangana state legislative council chairman K Swamy Goud might be currently under observation of experts in Sarojini Devi Eye Hospital for injury to his right eye caused due to hurling of headphone by expelled Congress MLA Komatireddy Venkat Reddy. But, sources close to the Congress circles say there was no major injury to Goud.“The headphone hurled by Komatireddy did not directly hit the council chairman, but got rebound from the desk and just caused a small bruise near his eye. It was not a bleeding injury,” sources said.

In fact, nobody noticed it in the melee and even Goud did not attach much importance to it. However, after the Governor finished his speech and was being escorted out of the House, chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao noticed the bruise and asked about it. It was then, he took it seriously and asked the TRS members to make it a big issue.Within minutes, doctors came to the Speaker’s chamber and cleaned the injury and applied bandage to it. He was later rushed to the eye hospital, where he was admitted as inpatient.

“In fact, Goud even wondered whether his eye would be deliberately damaged further to give political mileage to the TRS,” the sources said.Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Capt N Uttam Kumar Reddy also said it was a fake injury and not a genuine one.He said some news channels are repeatedly showing the footage of Komatireddy throwing a headphone. However, he said that the headphone was not thrown in the direction of the podium and Swamy Goud was not sitting anywhere close to the point where headphone apparently fell down.

The TPCC chief alleged the entire drama was scripted by KCR who wanted to prevent the main opposition from participating in discussions on TRS Government’s last budget.Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the Congress party would fight for justice and register its protest in all possible manners. He said KCR could not stop Congress party from exposing his failures before public by throwing out its MLAs from the House.
