Talks fail, TSRTC to go for strike from midnight!

Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) will go for strike from today midnight as the talks between TSRTC employees JAC and three-member committee appointed by the government failed.

TSRTC employees JAC are not compromising on their demands and post meeting the committee, they said the government responded positively but they did not make any concrete promise and so they are going for the strike. The employees JAC also stated that they are not fearing if the government wants to impose Essential Services Maintenance Act (ESMA) on employees.

On the other hand, the government is doing alternatives to deal with the strike. The government is likely to hire private bus drivers and conductors and they are likely to get a wage of Rs 1500 and Rs 1000 respectively. Also retired RTC staff are also being hired on a temporary basis.

TSRTC has been demanding merger of the RTC with the government, job security to drivers and conductors, implementation of Pay Scale Revision 2017 recommendations and removal of taxes on diesel.
