TDP wasting their only lifeline in that Uttharandhra region?

Telugu Desam Party has reasonably a very strong cadre in the Northern Andhra Pradesh when compared to Rayalaseema and other coastal districts. They have been enjoying a proper base due to some key leaders like Atchennaidu here and there. Now, one such leader Bandaru Satyanarayana Murthy plays a key role in East Godavari for the opposition.

When the TDP recently appointed the in-charges for the parliamentary districts, it handed over the most crucial post of Kakinada Parliamentary in-charge to Bandaru. In fact, what he wanted was a better post but he was compromised and has been loyal to his high command. However, when it comes to TDP in Kakinada, the cadre is strong. The TDP has won a total of 5 elections so far.

If we dive back into history, in 1984, the first time the TDP emerged, it successfully defeated Congress in that segment. The TDP then won a landslide victory in the 1991, 1996, and 1999 elections. In the 2004 and 2009 elections, however, the Congress won a landslide victory with YS Rajasekhara Reddy’s storm. Then in 2014, TDP clawed back as Thota Narasimham had a grand victory.

Now, Bandaru was appointed as the parliamentary incharge but it is being said that he wasn’t given enough support from the other local leaders. Bandaru, who belongs to the East Godavari district is an aspirant politician and is vocal throughout his career but the lack of support is making him step back. Now, TDP if they want to have any hopes on the Kakinada, they should give some moral support to the leader who is desperate to bring the glory back to their party.
