When Telugu Desam Party general secretary Nara Lokesh was fumbling while addressing party workers or general public in the initial days of becoming a minister in his father N Chandrababu Naidu’s cabinet last year, his rivals used to make fun of him.For example, he was ridiculed for not able to differentiate between Vardhanti (death anniversary) and Jayanti (birth anniversary). Yet, people excused him because he was inexperienced and new to public life.
In the last one year, Lokesh toured different parts of the state and world and spoke at different places.He was trying to make a mark for himself in politics and administration, but he still continues to make funny and non-serious comments. It was evident from his comment made at the NRI wing of the TDP at New Jersy on Sunday.
According to a statement released by his office in Amaravati, Lokesh was so overwhelmed by the response of the party workers in the USA that he was very much feeling at home even in the US.“By seeing your enthusiasm, I wonder whether the TDP can come to power even in the US. Our chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu is working like a 27-year old young man even at the age of 67,” Lokesh said.
What do you call it, if not height of stupidity? Even it is for the enthusing the party cadres, Lokesh cannot make such a stupid comment that the TDP can come to power even in the US and Naidu can become the President of the US.He must be aware that there are only two parties – the Democrats and Republics in the US and not hundreds of parties as in India.
