This Restaurant Serves Biryani For 5 Paise

Yesterday, on the occasion of World Food Day which falls on October 16, a restaurant in Chennai touched everyone’s hearts with its unexpected gesture. Sheik Mujibur Rahman, the owner of Mujib Biryani, distributed 600 gms of chicken biryani with raita and dalcha for just 5 paise to the poor.

Nearly 150 people, including 50 women and children, thronged to Mujib Biryani in Dindigul, Chennai, yesterday to savour the 5 paise biryani, which they couldn’t afford earlier as it costs Rs 90. What’s amusing is that all the people had to search hard for the 5 paise coins which got lost somewhere in their homes.

Mujib’s 5 paise biryani was a move to create awareness on the importance of preserving and maintaining old valuable things. It all started with his visit to the ancient archaeological excavation.

He raised awareness among his customers about the importance of the excavation and even asked them to visit.
