Rajinikanth wrapped up the first schedule of ‘Kaala Karikaalan’ in Mumbai and landed in Chennai Yesterday. While Huma Qureshi essay female lead, Nana Patekar plays the role of Main Antagonist.
A Chennai-based Producer K Rajashekaran who owns the production house GSR Vinmeen Creations filed a petition against the makers alleging the title & plot of Kaala Karikaalan belongs to him. Upon accepting the petition, A Court in Chennai issued notices to Rajinikanth, Director Pa Ranjith, Producer Dhanush and South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce (SIFCC) asking them to file their replies by June 15th.
In the petition, K Rajashekaran claimed he had registered the title ‘Karikaalan’ with SIFCC long back. He accused the film association of violating the rules to favor few influential people. ‘I wished to make a movie on Chola emperor Karikaalan. Even the story was narrated to Rajini Fans Association Leader Satyanarayana. Another dispute over the title is pending in the city civil court. So, No Producer have the right to make a movie with such title,’ he mentioned.
