To Touch Chiru, You Have To Cross Balayya First!

There’s no doubt that Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna are two of the biggest stars in the Telugu industry right now. As both the stars have an illustrious career in the industry and both have reached their milestones 150 & 100 respectively at same time, Chiru and Balayya are an inspiration to the present generation actors and the next generation actors in T-town.

Megastar Chiranjeevi set an unbeatable record by acting in over 150 films as a leading actor and Balakrishna is at 100 and both have become an epitome for young heroes. Besides acting in the record number of films, both of these stars have done different roles and tried several experimental films that set them apart from the rest.

Even versatile actor Akkineni Nagarjuna is very close to Balakrishna’s number. Nag is standing at 98th with Om Namo Venkatesaya and Raju Gari Gadhi-2 will be his 99th film.

On other hand, Venkatesh’s next with director Puri Jagannadh is going to be his 74th film and he is teaming up with director Krish for a historic epic Kavacham for his landmark 75th film.

However, unlike before, there’s no number game for the stars of this generation. More than the number of films, the more focus is now on the roles, films they choose.

Sample Mahesh Babu. He had tried his hand at experimentation by doing films such as Nani, One Nenokkadine. While both have failed at BO, Mahesh took a safe path and sustaining his slot.

Pawan Kalyan too is no different. He has done Johnny and received a major set back. It took a longtime for him to bounce back. Gabbar Singh gave him much needed success and continued it with Attarintiki Daredi. So Pawan stick to comfortable roles.

Allu Arjun is the only one who also proved to be successful with experiments as well. Both his experiments Vedam and Rudhramadevi turned successful besides his commercial films like Race Gurram, Sarrainodu. There’s no looking back for Bunny.

Jr NTR has tried socio-fantasy Yamadonga, the genre which no other star of this generation dared to do. But that’s only one film and Tarak is now back into commercial race. Especially after his mass films Dammu, Ramayya Vastavayya became duds, Tarak turned to class roles like Nannaku Prematho, Janatha Garage.

Though he hasn’t done any out-of-the-box role yet, Prabhas’ claim to fame is Baahubali and it made him a national icon. So one has to wait and see what kinda roles he choose after this period war drama.

Naga Chaitanya recently surprised everyone with performance oriented role in Premam. He still has to go a long way. Veering towards younger heroes Nani, Sharwanand, Allari Naresh, Nara Rohith are also picking up well.

Although Nani proved himself as good actor of this younger generation, he has to do more experimental films. Thanks to SS Rajamouli, Eega was only such credit to fame Nani has.

Nara Rohith just back in form with Jyo Achyutananda, Appatlo Okadundevadu. Allari Naresh totally deviated and lost his way now. In the past he did films like Nenu, Danger, Gamyam. He needs one good film to be back in the limelight. Sharwa is good with films like Run Raja Run, Express Raja and now Shatamanam Bhavati. Even his experiments like Amma Cheppindi, Gamyam fared well.

One has to see how these stars would do how many number of films besides also choosing quality roles that have scope to perform. And one thing is sure, none of the actors above could able to even aim at Chiru’s record number of 150 films. As first they have to cross Balayya’s 100 to touch Chiru’s 150.

Let’s hope our heroes would take it up as challenge and try to achieve it.
