Congress party vice-president Rahul Gandhi often becomes a laughingstock on social media and most of the times, the politician brings the trolls on himself.
Afresh, Rahul woke up the playful twitterati with his public announcement of not being able to either afford a new kurta or mend a torn one. At a recent meeting with party cadres in Uttarakhand, the Congress leader put his hand in his kurta pocket and held it up to show that it was torn.
He then said that it didn’t matter to him even if his kurta was torn but PM Modi was never seen wearing torn clothes despite he claimed to represent the poor. He accused the PM of playing politics with the poor.
Keeping the jibe of Rajul at PM aside, twitterati took notice of Rahul’s claim of having his kurta pocket torn and took potshots at him for trying to fool people. He was reminded by twitterati that he is the scion of the politically and financially powerful Nehru-Gandhi family and that he could well afford a new kurta.
Rahul needs to work on those sarcastic jibs which are often backfiring.
