Vamsi meets Jagan, gets positive response!

Telugu Desam Party legislator from Gannavaram Vallabhaneni Vamsi sprang a surprise both on his party as well as the ruling YSR Congress party by appearing in the chambers of chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy in the state assembly on Thursday.

Vamsi had a brief meeting with Jagan and came out on a happy note.

Though there is no political significance to the meeting, it is a rare scene that the chief minister has given audience to an opposition party MLA. So, naturally it raises many an eyebrow.

According to party sources, Vamsi made a representation to the chief minister seeking release of Godavari water from Polavaram right canal to the upland areas of Gannavaram constituency as part of Pattiseema project.

He pointed out that the previous TDP government had supplied power free of cost for lifting of water from the right canal to the parched lands of Gannavaram constituency.

“I requested that the Jagan government too supply power free of cost for water lifting,” he said.

Apparently, Jagan promised him to take care of the issue and direct the officials to ensure release of water to Gannavaram.

The other day, Vamsi triggered uproar in political circles by meeting senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader from Telangana and Union minister of state for home G Kishan Reddy in Vijayawada at a function of Swarna Bharati Trust (promoted by Vice President of India M Venkaiah Naidu).

Vamsi also had a private conversation with Kishan Reddy at a one-on-one meeting after the function, leading to speculations as to whether he would be shifting his loyalties to the BJP.

Vamsi, who managed to retain his seat with a slender margin of 838 votes in the recent elections, is said to be unhappy with the TDP leadership and is looking for alternative options.
