Viral Video: Vulgar dance at Amravati BJP MLA’s event

It was an official programme arranged to discuss the problems being faced by farmers, drought and Minimum Support Price (MSP) – Rashtriya Krushi Vikas Parishad (National Agriculture Development Council Programme). But, the Bharatiya Janata Party MLA of Amravati district (Maharashtra) who organised the event has come under the scanner as a man is seen dancing on stage by dressing up as a woman.

Going into the news, Morshi-Varud (Amravati district) legislator Anil Bhode has sparked a big controversy after a dance video of man-dressed up as woman-at government function went viral on social media. Since it was at an event organised for farmers, the act was criticised by the locals, opposition parties and it triggered huge reaction from the netizens as well.

Reacting to controversy surrounding the dance, Anil Bhode said “Farmers in Vidarbha participate in many cultural programmes like Dandar, Khada Tamasha and Gaulan. It is our traditional dance form called dhandar in which a male dresses up like a female to perform. Also, no women were present at the event.”
