Virat Kohli sweeps ICC awards

Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli has won all the top honours at the ICC Awards 2017-18 and became the first cricketer to achieve this feat.

Virat scripted history by winning Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for ICC Cricketer of the Year, the ICC Men’s Test Player of the Year and the ICC ODI Player of the Year awards. The 30-year-old from Delhi has also been named captain of ICC’s Test and ODI teams of 2018 as well.

Last year Virat played 13 Tests and scored 1,322 runs at an average of 55.08 with five hundred and he played 14 ODIs and scored 1202 runs at an average of 133.55 with six centuries.

India’s wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant was adjudged Men’s Emerging Cricketer of the Year and was also named in the Test side while India vice-captain Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav have made it to the ODI side.
