WC Semi-finals: India favorites but…

The semi-finals between India and New Zealand is underway in Manchester. NZ captain Kane Williamson won the toss and elected to bat first. This is a good toss to win as Manchester is reporting cloudy weather and batting second will become difficult. Despite all odds, India remains favorites to win the match.

Expectations are low on New Zealand and this can be their advantage. They started off the tournament quite well but lost momentum after couple of matches. New Zealand lost all their three league games but thanks to their run-rate that helped them to find a berth in the semis instead of Pakistan which also had same number points in the table.

Once again Kane Williamson and Ross Taylor will take the responsibility of the batting while Trent Boult are Lockie Ferguson are key bowlers. If they can take the Indian top order, New Zealand will certainly reach their second consecutive World Cup finals.

For India, the majority of the team members have performed significantly well throughout the tournament. But this is a big and pressure game. Batting second is one hell of a task. Hopefully, they will cross the line, fingers crossed!
