Why is KCR silent after exit polls?

Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has proved to be a practical leader, unlike his Andhra Pradesh counterpart N Chandrababu Naidu.

Though he had been trying to bring all the neutral regional parties together to form a federal front to enable it to bargain for power at the Centre, he has maintained a very low profile.

The moment he has realised that there are not many takers for his federal front proposal, KCR dropped hints that he was to join hands with the Congress-led coalition, subject to the condition that Rahul Gandhi should not be in the driver’s seat.

At the time, he also kept the options open for extending support to the NDA if such a situation arises.

But whatever the TRS president is doing, he has done it in a planned way, without disclosing his strategies to anybody, unlike Naidu, who has been running from pillar to post in the name of building an anti-BJP coalition.

However, when the exit polls conducted by various agencies and national media houses revealed that the BJP is coming to power on its own without anybody’s support as had happened in 2014, KCR quickly retracted himself into the shell.

The TRS chief is said to be planning to continue his stand of maintaining equi-distance from the BJP and the Congress. He will come out with more clarity after the election results on Thursday!
