Pawan Kalyan’s Janasena and BJP forming an alliance right in front of the municipal elections in Telangana is an interesting political development. No doubt, Pawan has a mass following in both Telugu states and he also has an added advantage in the form of his community whose population is dominant in the Telugu states. Amidst these equations, BJP has decided to strike an alliance with Janasena in order to gain from Pawan’s charisma in Southern states including Karnataka in the long run.
Now, Telangana BJP unit is quite confident that Pawan’s factor would help the Lotus Party gain in the coming Municipal elections. Party’s Telangana unit president Dr Laxman said that only Pawan’s fans could sail BJP to victory in municipal polls.
One one side, it is not clear yet whether Pawan openly supports BJP in the municipal elections in Telangana. Even if Pawan comes out in the last minute, the moot question is that whether the votes transfer happen? The interesting argument is that not even Pawan’s own fans have voted for Janasena in AP elections. In that case, whether Pawan’s fans vote for BJP in Telangana municipal elections need to be seen. Meanwhile, ruling TRS is confident of pulling it off in the municipal polls. But according to political analysts, it is not very easy for TRS to sweep the polls since BJP and Congress are giving tough competition in several segments.
