Is there an attempt to bring about a truce among KCR and Etela Rajender? Sources in the know say that Etela has already realised that he cannot fight the might of KCR and has already held a white flag. He shows no signs of fighting KCR. Even KCR seems bent on not fighting it out with Etela. He too wants to leave the whole affair behind after establishing his supremacy.
Sources say that Etela’s own surveys have shown that there is no great support for him even in Huzurabad, his home constituency. Secondly, there is every possibility that there may not be any elections in near future due to Covid situation. The election commission, which is already in the dock for holding elections during Covid, may not hold the elections anytime soon.
Meanwhile, there are signs that the probe into Etela’s lands has slowed down, especially after the chiding by the High Court. The TRS boss wants to use this interregnum to mend fences with Etela. KCR has succeeded in hitting Etela where it hurts most. But, he may not go beyond that. He also realises that many more ministers, including his close relatives, were engaged in similar incidents of land-grab and it would be unwise for him to expose all of them. So, he is trying to hush up the whole thing.
