‘Winner’ released this Friday amid good expectations. It stood as the third biggest Day 1 earner, after Khaidi No.150 and Gautamiputra Satakarni. But, That doesn’t mean this Sai Dharam Tej and Rakul starrer had a good start at across the World.
In Overseas, ‘Winner’ is on verge of becoming a huge disaster. Overseas rights have been obtained by Telugu Filmnagar for Rs 1.2 crore. At least, A Gross of Rs 2.5 crore is needed putting Buyers in a safe zone and anything more than that will be treated as profit.
However, ‘Winner’ opened to poor response in Overseas. While Thursday premieres fetched $29,000, Revenue generation on Friday is just $18,000. Though collections on Saturday might slightly improve, It won’t be sufficient to compensate the losses. There is hardly any scope for recovery after those negative reviews and ordinary word-of-mouth.
