YSRC Leader To Produce Film On TDP Founder!

It is now official. Maverick director Ram Gopal Varma has finally found a ‘bakra’ to produce the much-hyped film on legendary actor and former chief minister N T Rama Rao with a focus on his widow Nandamuri Lakshmi Parvathi.

The producer, surprisingly, is Rakesh Reddy, YSR Congress party in-charge of Palamaneru constituency in Chittoor district. Surprising because NTR is the founder-president of Telugu Desam Party and YSRC is its bitter rival.

Apparently, YSRC leader has come forward to make the film to run down present TDP president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

Varma, who came to Palamaneru on Tuesday, went round the town along with Rakesh Reddy and then made the announcement at a press conference.

The director said there was no politics behind choosing Rakesh Reddy and it was purely a business agreement.

But since Varma has chosen Lakshmi Parvathi as the protagonist of the film and since she is now a YSR Congress party leader, the producer who is also a YSRC leader, would definitely use the film to take on Chandrababu Naidu.

Varma said the film, titled “Lakshmi’s NTR,” would start not with NTR’s childhood or his regime in the Telugu film indsutry, but with the entry of Lakshmi Parvathi into his life a couple of years before his death. So, the film is not entirely a biopic but only an episode of his life relating to his last days.

“We are planning to release the film in February,” Varma added.
