Whether it is China, USA or Italy, all of them claim the Coronavirus cases only on one single aspect. And what is that? Tourists footfall into their country has brought the virus along with them.
And as by the time they realize they have the symptoms, they have already infected at least a few other hundred people by then unknowingly. So, this phenomena is taken very seriously by the authorities and all international flights to and fro are cancelled.
But what about those who have already come from foreign countries in the past 2 months? The possibility of them carrying the virus is high. Almost 90% of the cases that have surfaced as positive in India are also those who have traveled from abroad. And from them, the other direct contact have tested positive due to the delay in quarantining these foreign return citizens.
So, the Government of India has ordered all State governments to first test and then put quarantine on about 15 lakhs people who have flown back to home between the period of January 15th to March 23rd.
Not even 15,000 people were actually tested for the virus until now from those 15 lakh people. So, if this is the truth, then there are high chances of more spread in the upcoming weeks, say analysts.
