Rajinikanth and Shankar’s “2 Point 0” aka “2.0” has collected whopping Rs 50 Cr share in AP and Nizam. Rs 50 Cr collection in Telugu states is a huge amount.
If a movie collects such massive amount in AP and Telangana, then it can be declared as blockbuster. However, in the case of ‘2.0’, the picture is altogether different.
‘2.0’ has to recover money mainly from the theaters in two states unlike other Telugu movies which collect revenue in other states in India as well as overseas.
But ‘2.0’ was released in massive number of screens in other states in Hindi and Tamil languages and the overseas rights were also sold to other distributors.
‘2.0’ was bought by NVR Prasad, Dil Raju and UV Vamshi together for Rs 72 Cr and they have got rights for AP and Telangana market. So, the movie has to recover more than Rs 22 Cr to reach into profit stage.
All in all, despite recovering Rs 50 Cr share, the film is going to be declared as loss venture.
