2 Bills Passed: CRDA Shelved, DIDR Approved

In a remarkable turn of events today, Andhra Pradesh state government has passed two crucial bills that would change the fate of the new state. YS Jagan Mohan Reddy-led government has passed two bills.

1) AP Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) Act, 2014 which had all the plans to develop Amaravati as capital shelved.

2) AP Decentralization and Inclusive Development of All Regions Bill, 2020, which will have 3 capitals for the state.

During the discussion on above two bills, 17 TDP MLAs out of 23 MLAs were suspended from the house as they were reportedly tried to obstruct the speech of CM Jagan. Finance Minister Buggana Rajendranath Reddy has introduced the resolution on the suspension of 17 MLAs for a day. He has asked the marshals to pull out the TDP MLAs from the house for constructing the house proceedings.

Opposition Leader CBN Arrested

Leader Of Opposition and Former CM Chandrababu Naidu was arrested in midway while he was on his way to Mandada to extend his support to protesting Amaravati farmers against the government’s decision. Chandrababu was arrested by police while he was going on a Padayatra to Mandada. TDP leaders and police were involved in war of words during Chandrababu’s arrest. Police have dramatically diverted Naidu’s vehicle and took him in different route to police station.
