The opposition TDP’s strategy has worked in the Legislative council yesterday. After serving notices under Rule 71, TDP demanded for a debate on this and stalled the debate on ‘Three Capitals.’ With TDP having the number, Council speaker initiated the debate on Rule 71.
At the end of the day, voting was also done and TDP’s game plan worked. With 27 votes, TDP has conceded the moral victory but shockingly two MLCs have voted in favour of the ruling party. The two MLCs are Shivanath Reddy and Pothula Sunitha.
Upset with this, the TDP has served disqualification notices and urged the council speaker to immediately disqualify the two MLCs from overlooking the party’s whip.
With hectic developments in the council on ‘Three Capitals’ bill, the Speaker might take his own time to consider the disqualification notices.
