2018 Roundup: Biggest Hits Of The Year

Tollywood has witnessed only a handful of hits this year. Here is the list of five biggest hits of the year.

1) Rangasthalam: Ram Charan – Sukumar’s Rangasthalam is a resounding hit at the box office. It is the only film among biggies to make profits this year.

Rangasthalam has collected around Rs. 120 crore distributor share and thus becoming the biggest Non-Baahubali hit beating Khaidi No. 150 by a fairly good margin.

2) Geetha Govindam: Incredible is the word to define Geetha Govindam’s success range. The film was a monstrous hit making nearly five times its making costs from theatricals.

It has created a new record for mid-range and low budget films and can be termed as the Baahubali of mid-rangers.

3) Mahanati: Widely acclaimed Mahanati also has made handsome profits at the ticket windows. It is one of the biggest hits among mid-range movies of all time.

The film has started the trend of biopics in Telugu film industry.

4) RX 100: Bold content with a youthful storyline that has enough shock value had worked wonders for RX 100.

The film has limited appeal because of its approach and content, however, it has become one of the biggest profit earners in terms of return on investment.

5) Goodachari: It is one of the very well made movies of the year and also one of the unanimously successful ones.

The film has achieved something that even big stars and star directors couldn’t achieve within a limited budget. A sequel for Goodachari is in plans now.
