It looks like YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is not going to get a peace of mind even during his holidaying in the US.
Jagan arrived in the US to a rousing welcome in the Washington DC Airport when he landed there in the evening (as per Indian Standard Time).
But what surprised him was the presence of several YSRC leaders from Andhra Pradesh among hundreds of people who came to the airport to receive him.
According to sources, as many as 47 MLAs of the YSR Congress party flew to the US well ahead of Jagan’s visit.
This is apart from leaders like Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams chairman Y V Subba Reddy, Rajampet MP P Mithun Reddy and MLA Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy who went along with Jagan.
While many MLAs might have gone there to join the celebrations by Telugu NRIs who have planned massive reception for Jagan at Dallas Convention Centre, where he is set to address the Telugu diaspora, many others are understood to have gone to the US with a hope that he would be relatively free in the US to able to talk to them.
“It is next to impossible to meet Jagan in Amaravati, as he will be completely engaged with his official work. Even at the party meetings, it is not possible to have free-wheeling interaction with him. So, they thought during his US visit, he will have ample free time to talk them and that they can get their works done,” a source said.
However, what the MLAs seem to have forgotten that Jagan had gone to the US on his personal visit, though he had fixed a few official engagements, like addressing the NRIs at Dallss, meeting industrialists, representatives of commercial establishments and US diplomats.
He has dedicated his complete time to his family for three days on August 19, 20 and 21.
“So, there is hardly any time for him to meet the MLAs there. Obviously, he wants to keep himself away from all hustle-bustle and spend some quality time with his family,” the source added.
