In what is being seen as nothing short of a miracle, a 93-year-old man and his 88-year-old wife survived Corona infection and got completely cured. They were admitted to the hospital after they tested positive. After testing negative twice they were finally discharged on Monday. This miracle occurred in the government hospital in Pattanamthitta of Kerala. The couple are identified as Thomas and Mariyamma.
Interestingly, his son is now in Corona-infected Italy.
The couple did not practice social distance, attended several functions and were finally detected Corona positive. After this they were put under quarantine. Many thought that they would not survive the corona scare. Mariyamma was already suffering from several ailments. There were at least six occasions, when the doctors treating them had given up hopes that they would make it. However, they managed to weather all these scares and were finally cured of Corona. Now, they have been discharged.
Normally, Corona is said to be dangerous for elderly people. Those above 60 are said to be particularly vulnerable. Most of the deaths reported are also among the above-60 age group.
