Veteran actor and former politician Mohan Babu today fired on the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu. Mohan Babu criticised Chandrababu over the government’s non payment of the fees reimbursement dues.
Mohan Babu said that for the last 26 years, he has been selflessly offering free education to 25% of the students at his Sree Vidya Niketan in Tirupati and that Chandrababu government is troubling his institute since a long time.
“The former CM of erstwhile Andhra Pradesh YS Rajasekhara Reddy had introduced the fees reimbursement scheme which has been helping millions of students hailing from poor and middle-class families to get subsidised education at Engineering level. And, Chandrababu didn’t abolish the scheme after becoming the CM of the residual Andhra Pradesh in 2014,” said Mohan Babu.
“During the academic years 2014-15, 2015-16 and 2016-17, the AP government didn’t fully clear the fees reimbursement dues and only offered as a paltry amount and treated us like beggars. Our institution is yet to get Rs 16 crore dues from the government until the 2018-19 academic year,” said the senior hero cum educationalist.
“Chandrababu, I will not talk about your policies, but you must keep your promises made to our students. It’s your basic responsibility,” Mohan Babu fumed. Needless to say that there actor’s statements are gaining more prominence amidst the non-stop reports about his growing rift with the AP CM and his proximity to YS Jagan.
