“I want to be active in politics to serve the people… So I request you to grant me loan as I’m willing to contest as MP.” This is a plea of a social activist who is vexed with corruption in politics and he applied for loan at Canara bank.
The social activist is identified as K Venkataramana and he is planning to contest as MP from Secunderabad constituency. “For over 15 years I’m fighting against corruption and hosted many agitations in the past. I have been identifying corruption in various departments in the government and dragging the culprits to the court,” said Venkataramana. He added that his financial is quite weak and so he applied for the loan of Rs 5 Lakh at a local bank.
Venkataramana resides in Bhagamberpet and in 2014 he contested as independent for the assembly from Amberpet constituency. He said he applied for the loan in the past too but banks refused to grant loan and once again he had applied. This time Venkataramana is hoping to get a relief from banks.
Very rarely social activists get public’s backing. Venkataramana has to pull up his socks to seriously make and bring a change in the society.
