AP Chief Minister and TDP Chief N. Chandrababu Naidu is busy with election campaigns and roadshows across the state. His aggressive campaign is at its peak as there are only 7 days for the polling day in Andhra Pradesh. While this happens to be a crucial election for the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Chandrababu has stayed away from campaigning for himself in his home constituency of Kuppam in Chittoor district.
Not only this, in fact, he has never campaigned in Kuppam after changing his constituency from Chandragiri. So strong is the bonding between the people of Kuppam and Chandrababu that, he has not campaigned there in 1999, 2004, 2009 and even in the current elections. In fact, during his earlier stint as united AP’s Chief Minister and in his second term as the CM of truncated AP, he has made Kuppam a model constituency which has also attained the status of a “VIP constituency.”
Generally, Chittoor collector posted to the district is also one of the IAS officers who is generally in Chandrababu’s good-books. Most importantly, they should be young and agile and that’s how Chandrababu prefers them. Even recently, during nomination, Chandrababu stayed away from filing them as they were filed on his behalf by his son Nara Lokesh.
While Naidu is busy campaigning for other leaders from the TDP, Chittoor district leaders are campaigning for him in his constituency. It is indeed a loyal bonding the people of Kuppam have with their leader.
