East and West Godavari districts will decide which party will come to power in Andhra Pradesh in Assembly elections every time.
Any party which secures majority of the seats in these two districts are bound to come to power. This has been the tradition for long and this tradition continues to remain unbroken.
In 2014 elections, TDP swept both these districts and came to power.
But this time, all the reports say YSRCP is going to win majority of the seats in Godavari districts.
There are 19 Assembly seats in East Godavari and 15 seats in West Godavari.
A clear wave in favour of YSRCP is being witnessed in West Godavari at present. YSRCP is expected to win 12 out of 15 seats in West Godavari easily.
Jana Sena is expected to bag 2 seats. With this ruling TDP has to satisfy with just one seat.
Even in East Godavari, YSRCP is expected to bag over 10 seats.
This is because farmers are said to be angry at TDP government for failing to implement crop loan waiver scheme promised in 2014 so far.
TDP’s tally in both these districts is expected to come down drastically. TDP is not in a position to compensate this huge loss in remaining districts by securing majority seats.
In majority of the constituencies in Godavari districts, the TDP’s situation has worsened to such an extent that it currently stands at third place after YSRCP and Jana Sena.
It appears, no one can stop TDP’s imminent defeat in AP Assembly polls this time.
