It is an open secret that Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has been sidelining his nephew and former minister T Harish Rao since the December 7 assembly elections.
The reason is simple: Harish should not emerge as an alternative power centre in the party and create hurdles for KCR’s son K T Rama Rao who is all set to replace his father as the next chief minister.
Poor Harish Rao has no option but to remain silent as he has neither guts nor resources to raise a banner of revolt against the father-son duo.
On the other hand, he has not been giving any opportunity to create an impression that he is unhappy in the party.
At every given opportunity, Harish Rao has been proving his loyalty to the party. Even on the TRS formation day on April 27, he was the first person to greet the party workers and praise the leadership of KCR.
That Harish Rao is desperate to prove his fidelity time and again has once again been evident from the way he is struggling hard to secure victory for the TRS in the MPTC and ZPTC elections.
In Siddipet district, the former minister is going all out to see that all the mandal parishad territorial constituency members are elected unanimously without any contest.
He is so desperate to declare his loyalty to the TRS president that he made personal visits to Chintamadaka, KCR’s native village, to ensure that the local MPTC is elected unanimously.
Similarly in all the other mandals, he is forcing the other party candidates to withdraw from the contest so that the TRS candidates are elected unanimously. In fact, Siddipet tops the entire state in unanimous mandal and zilla parishad elections.
What does Harish Rao get if he proves his loyalty to KCR?
First, he wants to convey to the people that he is loyal to the TRS. Secondly, he wants to prove his complete hold over Siddipet. And thirdly, if the KCR family continues to neglect him, he will continue to get the people’s support and gain sympathy from them.
That will help him when he really revolts against KCR family!
