On Sunday, Mumbai Indians defeated Chennai Super Kings and bagged IPL title for the 4th time. As we know, Shane Watson was among the crucial players for CSK who slammed 80 runs of 59 balls. Spin bowler Harbhajan Singh revealed on his social media account that his CSK teammate Shane Watson batted through a bleeding knee in the IPL final against Mumbai Indians.
He wrote – “Can you guys see the blood on his knee…he got 6 stitches after the game..got injured while diving but continue to bat without telling anyone. That’s our @srwatson33 Almost pulled it off for us last night”.
Despite a strong team effort and perseverance, Chennai Super Kings, who restricted Mumbai Indians to a score of 149, lost the match. On the other hand, Watson, who had initially struggled to get runs on the scoreboard, ended the season with 398 runs from 17 inning
Playing for Chennai Super Kings, Watson almost proved the saviour in a nerve-wracking run chase. He faced criticism earlier during his international career for poor body language. But now, Watson decided to not let his injury be trouble and he powered through the pain.
