September 2 is the more tragic date in the life of YS Rajasekhar Reddy’s family members and his supporters.
On this date in 2009, then AP CM YSR died in a helicopter crash at Pavuralagutta while he was on his way to make ‘surprise visits’ as part of “Rachabanda” programme to several villages in the districts of Chittoor, Nellore and Prakasam districts to see for himself whether the welfare schemes being implemented by his government were reaching the poor or not.
Exactly ten years later, his only son YS Jaganmohan Reddy, who became CM by setting up his own party YSRCP and swept recent Assembly polls, has decided to launch “Rachabanda” programme on September 2.
Jagan has decided to re-lauch Rachbanda programme and make surprise visit to villages by travelling in a helicopter on September 2.
However, Jagan’s decision to launch Rachabanda on the same day on September 2 coinciding with YSR’s helicopter crash has become a worrying factor for YSRCP leaders, cadre and his family members.
They are reportedly insisting on Jagan to launch the programme any day except September 2 because September 2 is jinxed for YSR’s family members.
They also want Jagan to change “Rachabanda” name and come up with some other name as it reminds of tragic memories of late YSR.
But Jagan reportedly turned down their request and took a firm decision to launch Rachabanda on September 2 and travel by helicopter to make surprise visit of villages on September 2 to see for himself how his government is functioning and whether his Navaratnalu were reaching the poor or not.
Jagan’s family members, supporters, YSRCP’s leaders and cadre are praying all the Gods for the success of Rachabanda this time and safety of Jagan.
