AP, TS gets nothing in Union Budget!

Despite Telangana CM KCR and AP CM YS Jaganmohan Reddy making repeated requests to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to allocate sufficient funds to both the states and fulfill pending bifurcation-promises made in AP Reorganisation Act, 2014, they were simply ignored in the Union Budget 2019 presented to Parliament today.

While AP got just Rs 13 crore for Central University and Rs 8 crore for Tribal University, Telangana got just Rs 80 crore for IIT-Hyderabad.

There is no mention about allocating funds for construction of Amaravathi capital city, Polavaram project in the budget.

Jagan’s major demand of according special category status for AP has been simply ignored.

Similary, TS government’s repeated pleas on giving national status for Kaleshwaram projects, funds for Mission Bhagiratha, Mission Kakatiya have been left out from the budget.

Shockingly, the Centre failed to address any of the pending bifurcation-promises made to AP and TS.

With this, both the ruling parties in AP and TS, namely YSRCP and TRS openly lashed out at the Centre for ignoring their repeated pleas and innumerable representations.

Jagan recently made a powerful presentation before PM, CMs of all states in the Niti Aayog meeting in Delhi seeking more funds for ‘revenue-deficit state’ AP after bifurcation.

But, none of the Jagan’s requests were honoured in the budget.
