In the latest episode of Karthika Deepam, Soundarya collapses after learning the situation is hopeless. As Anand Rao and Adithya carry her in, they notice Deepa at the doorsteps. Deepa emotionally pleads Soundarya to help her. She repents for being pointlessly rebellious in the past and walking out of the house when Karthik questioned her chastity. She feels she must have stayed back and proved herself.
Soundarya gets emotional seeing Deepa in this state. Deepa requests Anand Rao to help her out. He reveals that Karthik has hemmed them but by threatening to commit suicide. This leaves Deepa shattered.
She wonders if anyone can help her in this dire condition. Meanwhile, Adithya locks Karthik in his room. Soundarya vents her anguish over failing to reunite them (Deepa and Karthik) from the past 8 years.
Anand Rao further assures Deepa to give all the required financial support. Deepa rejects his help adding that she can earn her livelihood. She then reveals that she will not let Hima stay with Karthik if he goes ahead with a divorce. Adding that she can’t afford to make unwanted sacrifices anymore, Deepa walks away. Soundarya and Anand Rao are shocked by Deepa’s decision.
Murali Krishna bumps into Deepa and asks the reason behind her gloominess. Deepa blames Murali Krishna for everything and leaves him. He tries to chase Deepa.
Karthik finds himself locked in his room. As Soundarya lets him out, he assumes that Deepa must have come. He continues to belittle her and ridicules Soundarya. She slaps Karthik and warns him against humiliating Deepa further. This leaves Karthik utterly shocked.
