Chitti Babu Deserves National Award

In the wake of 66th National Film Awards announced other day, fans of the film “Rangasthalam” who are literally responsible for the 123+ crores ‘share’ collection the film made at the box office, are deeply upset. They feel that this snub shouldn’t have happened, and it is quite unfair.

Though there is no way one could deny that Mahanati movie and Keerthy Suresh could be denied an award, they say, Ram Charan deserves a Best Actor award. For the kind of riveting performance he delivered as Chittibabu in Rangasthalam, at least a Jury Award is a must for him. Compared to what Ayushman Khurrana did in Andhadhun and Vicky Kaushal did in Uri, Charan’s act in Rangasthalam is no less.

Also the screenplay of Rangasthalam is better than the original screenplay of Chi La Sow, and Sukumar’s direction is top-notch than so called better films in India, is what fans feel. At the same time, the artwork in Rangasthalam, where they erected a whole village set in Jubilee Hills Hyderabad, needs better appreciation.

Some say that Rangasthalam makers should have lobbied more to win an award, rather leaving it to the lousy jury that appears to have picked awards out of a lottery.
