The Embassy of Brazil confirmed after President Jair Bolsonaro’s statement that Brazil, the South American country, will allow Indian travellers to visit without a visa from here on. Brazil has been working to implement this policy so that Indian travellers can enter the country without taking much time.
The embassy spokesperson said that the Brazil government wishes to facilitate easier entry for Indian tourists and business persons for India as the government want to boost people-to-people contact between the two countries and increase foreign investment in Brazil.
The statement has been released post-President Bolsonaro’s words that he intends to bring in measures that would allow greater contact with both India and China and hence, ending visa requirements for the two countries’ citizens.
Earlier, Brazil has also ended visa requirements for the US, Canada, Japan and Australia citizens. It is also noted that President Bolsonaro first announced about the India ad China’s new visa policy in his September speech at the UN General Assembly.
