CBI gets Amaravati land file, eye on Naidu

The CBI has taken the possession of the Amaravati land pooling and land allotments during Chandrababu Naidu regime between 2015 and 2019.

The land pooling for the capital city was claimed as biggest ever exercise by any government across the world.

However, the YSR Congress had alleged that both the land pooling and land allotments was a biggest corruption ever happened anywhere in the world.

The farmers were forced to part with the multicrop fertile lands in 29 villages.

It was alleged that the TDP government had encouraged insider trading with a select leaders of the TDP buying lands much before the capital was announced.

The farmers were paid lowest prices and the TDP leaders benefited more out of this trade.

Even in the land allotments to various government and private organisations, the TDP government was accused of showing favouritism to the private sector and thus received benefits.

The RBI was made to pay Rs 4 crore per acre while some private organisations were given lands as low as Rs 50 lakh an acre.

The Jaganmohan Reddy had ordered CID probe initially into all these alleged irregularities and found prima facie evidence.

Basing on the information received in the CID investigation, the government had handed over the case to CBI.

The news comes as a shocker to many of the TDP leaders while the ruling YSR Congress leaders are celebrating.

The leaders are confident that the CBI would lay it’s hand on Chandrababu Naidu any time, the much awaited action on the TDP chief.

It is to be seen what would happen once the CBI makes its first move in the case.
